Merry Christmas (2016)!

Hey there! Long wait is over and Christmas is here ūüėÄ How is your day going?

It’s awe-inspiring to think that 2,000+ years ago our God was born as a baby into the world. It can be hard to wrap my mind around that.

As you go about your day today, which I’m sure is filled with gift exchanges, time with family, and delicious food, remember why we celebrate this day. Yes, it is about giving and spending time with family, but most of all it is the birth of our Savior. This is why we are able to have so much hope. God switched places with us and took our mistakes and the wrong things we have done (sin) so we could live forever with him. Isn’t that incredible? Take a moment to thank him for that.

I wish you all a merry Christmas!

Christmas Gift Guide 2016

¬†YAYAYAY! I’m so excited for this post. First Christmas post!¬† I’ve been watching tons and tons of videos all over YouTube about Christmas wish lists and gift guides and I’m ready to make my own. I want to also include Allison’s post about Creative Christmas gifts in this post because it is an awesome list for specific ideas of what you could ask for or give. Check it out here!

I hope this helps you have ideas for what to ask for yourself or give to other people. This isn’t my wish list, it is more of a compilation of what you can ask for and give to others. I split this into who it is for. I also did gifts for others that I felt were in my cost range. You may have more or less to spend, this was just what I had.

Ok, you ready to go read?? Begin!

Teen girls:

First off, non-materialistic gift  you can ask for.

  • A special class (make-up, photography, baking)
  • Tickets to a sports events, concerts, or amusement parks.
  • ¬† A nice dinner out, spa day, shopping spree, vacation.
  • Sponsor a child.
  • Subscriptions. You could ask for someone to pay a subscription to Spotify, a magazine company, a subscription box such as ipsy.
  • You could ask for someone to pay a years worth of pic monkey, buy you final Cut Pro, or a WordPress domain.

  • Gift cards. Many people think that gift cards feel impersonal but any girl I know would really appreciate a gift card, especially to a store they like. If you don’t know what to get, go for a Visa gift card.

  • A camera (especially a DLSR)
  • Camera accessories such as a lens, case, HD Card, studio lights, a microphone, or tripod.
  • Phone, tablet, or laptop
  • a case for your phone or laptop

LuMee cases look really cool. They light up so the lighting is really good when you want to take a selfie. {via}

  • The cases that battery power your phone.
  • Nice ear buds or head phones.

Instax printers look really cool. You can use them to print our pictures from your phone but they look like Polaroids.

  • a projector
  • chargers or speakers for your devices
  • Go Pro or drone

  • PJs or Slippers. Everyone loves to cuddle up during the winter in PJs and slippers.
  • Fuzzy socks.
  • Sweaters.
  • Bomber jackets (I want a pale pink one :D).
  • Boots.
  • Sneakers.
  • Converse.
  • Accessories like scarves, belts, and socks.
  • Jewelry. I’ve recently started getting a lot more into jewelry. Rings, necklace, bracelets, and earrings can add a lot to an outfit.

{via} Make-up. Holidays are a great time to ask for more high-end (and pricey) make-up products or to ask for a few simple products to try out. There are lots of holiday sets that are perfect to buy for a girl in your life!

  • Make-up brushes
  • Purses, bags, purses.
  • Face masks.
  • Lush products.
  • Hair tools (straightener, curling iron).
  • Hair accessories (bobby pins, hair ties, hair spray, hair mask, etc.)

  • Planner, planner supplies, journal.
  • Furniture, home decor (faerie lights, pillows, jewelry holder)
  • Candles or other Bath and Body works stuff.
  • Christmas ornaments.
  • Candy.
  • Art supplies (mediums, sketch pad, duck tape).
  • Books. {via} Bible or Coloring Bible. Coloring Bible are something I just learned about. I’ve only seen a few versions of them. Basically, the margins in the Bible are larger and have verses you can color (the picture will give you a better idea).

  • Devotional

  • Any kind of pampering products. Moms do so much for us, they don’t always have the supplies or time to relax. Any Lush or Bath and Body Works products they will probably like.
  • If you have more money you could buy them a night out to eat, spa package, or tickets to the movies.
  • Cozy blanket or slippers.
  • Jewelry. Mom’s love jewelry. It would be extra special if it were something that was mother and daughter, so it was also sentimental.
  • Perfume, if you can afford it this is a great option.
  • Sentimental gifts.

  • You could also get his favorite snack or bake him his favorite treat.
  • A gift card to his favorite coffee shop.
  • A book you think he would read and enjoy.
  • A coffee mug or other gift personalized with pictures of you and your family.

  • Toys (my brothers LOVE Legos).
  • CANDY. No matter how old your sibling is they will like candy, I guarantee it. You can get candy pretty cheap anywhere.
  • Something they always use that’s yours. If your sibling is always stealing a charger because they don’t have one, just buy them one for Christmas. This works well because you know they will use it, and it solves your problem with them taking your stuff.
  • Ask them what they want (I know it’s obvious, but if there is something you can afford that they want, that is a good option.)
  • If you hear them talking about something, you could them surprise them and get it for them. They may be really surprised that you were paying attention to what they have been talking about.

Most grandparents appreciate sentimental things that remind them of you and your siblings.

  • Scrapbooks/photo books are good ideas for them (this is good for anyone, honestly!)
  • Anything that is personalized to have pictures of you and your siblings on it (blankets, mugs, mouse pads, Christmas ornaments, etc.)
  • Sentimental things such as letters, A-Z reasons of why you love them, etc.

If you want to make someone a personalized gift that is from Shutterfly or a similar store, be on the look out. I use Shutterfly and I get lots of coupons from them. Some are from the company and others you can get when you shop at your grocery store or another retail store. Then you only have to pay for shipping. Lots of times they give away free items.

Gift guides are my favorite posts/videos to read and watch (and also make!). I hope you got some ideas from this post!

What do you want for Christmas? Leave a comment below. See ya soon!

Merry Christmas!

Hey Everyone! How’s your Christmas going? I’m sure having fun:D I love all of you so much and am so thankful that I’m able to be apart of this community. I’ve been blogging for over a year, but every post feels like the first. I’m still learning new things. Thank you for inspiring me so much, all of you!

I love celebrating Christmas, but as we go through the business of this holiday, let us remember that it all started that day, long ago in Bethlehem when Jesus our Savior was born. I really like how it’s summed up in Souly Rested blog. I suggest you check out that post along with the recent posts on Girls Living For God’s Glory.

I hope you all have a safe, peaceful, and merry Christmas! God bless you:)

A Christmas Recipe

I’m sitting at the computer typing while listening to Come On Christmas, by Matthew West (Thanks¬†Sunny!) ¬†If your bored and want something to do this Christmas Break, you should¬†make this Chocolate Bark it’s so good. If you were wondering this is day 10 of Megan’s blogging challenge.

A Christmas Challenge

This recipe is from (I couldn’t find the link to this website)

Festive chocolate Bark, we have been making it for as long as I can remember. My family has adapted it a bit so here it is for you. Enjoy!

  • 1 Cup of shelled pistachios
  • 12 oz. of semisweet chocolate
  • 8 oz. of white chocolate
  • 3/4 cup of dried, sweetened cranberries (or unsweetened if your brave)
  • Sea salt or Normal Salt (optional)

Step 1

If not, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and lightly toast for about 10 minuets, flipping occasionally. Let them cool.

Step 2

Melt the semisweet chocolate stirring until smooth. Do the same with the white chocolate (Tip: If you are using the stove top use a double broiler to melt the chocolate. If you use the microwave be extremely careful not to burn them or yourself!)

Step 3

In a small bowl combine the nuts and cranberries. Then stir half of them into the semisweet chocolate. Using a spatula, spread the mixture to about a 1/2 thickness on a large cookie sheet. Drop tablespoonfuls over the semisweet chocolate. With a toothpick or tip of the knife, swirl the chocolates together to create a marbled effect. Sprinkle on the rest of the nuts and berries.

Step 4

Refrigerate the bark for 1 hour or until firm. Then sprinkle salt on top, then break it into pieces. Store the bark in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to a month.

About 1 3/4 pounds

What did you think of the recipe? Was I clear enough? If you have any questions about it comment and tell me. Happy early Christmas!

It’s Begining To Look A Lot Like Christmas photos

Christmas is in 5 days. Is that possible? It was just July! Today I’m going to show you some pictures of “it beginning(or not so much) to look like Christmas.” This is day 8 of Megan’s Christmas challenge! Let me show you the pictures now:D

A Christmas Challenge

Our tree is up! That always makes it feel more like Christmas. Especially with Christmas music blaring in the background.

My room is decorated! I wrapped one of my picture frames and now it looks like a gift! I also hung some ornaments by my curtains and hung stockings on my bureau, (I love decorating for Christmas!) This really helps me feel Christmasy/

But that doesn’t make up for the fact that it’s 52 and raining:(

Rain, Rain go away come again another day.

Other things(not with pictures) that make me feel like its Christmas time include:

Trips to the mall, baking cookies, wrapping presents, doing Advent, practice for the Christmas play, writing Christmas lists, reading, writing and watching Christmas videos/posts, and so many more things. What are some of yours?

Are you pumped for Christmas? Are any of your presents under the tree? Any guesses on what you’re getting? DID YOU KNOW IT’S SUPPOSE TO BE 70 ON CHRISTMAS DAY? As you can see I’m super excited and also sad (about the no snow thing) basically just talk to me. I’m on Christmas break;) I think that’s all my ramblings for now. Have an amazing, super-duper, crazy fun day. Sincerely, me who is sitting very chill like by the fire, but on the inside I think it might be cloud coocko land. So I should probably be quiet before you guys follow me;)

Reviews And Haul of What I Got!

HI everyone! So if you read my last doll related post, you might know that I got a new doll! I also mentioned I got some accessories as well. I’m going to be showing you and reviewing what I got. If you have no clue what I’m talking about you can click here. I also just want to mention that I’m not trying to brag in any way:D So after an insanely long intro, let’s get into it.

Here she is, my new doll! Her name is officially Brooklyn, I haven’t thought of a middle name yet. (comment suggestions;)

She is an 18″ doll and she did come with the My American Girl outfit that was retired in May. I didn’t review that because I’m lazy:)

She has a steep side part, and her hair comes all the way to her hips.

It’s dark brown and wavy. She is a second-hand doll so her hair isn’t perfect but, it doesn’t matter to me:D

Here is a hair color compared to #59.

She has the standard face mold, captivating hazel eyes, feathered eyebrows, and freckles.

Overall, I would completely recommend her but her hair is wavy as opposed to curly, so when styling the curls do let out quicker. She is gorgeous and so fun to photograph.

Next is her dog Pepper. Here is a size profile.

He is a husky puppy, with a hard plastic body, with a fuzzy exterior, he has blue beaded eyes.

*Side view*

The only problem I have is the GIGANTIC tag sticking out.

Here is the collar it matches his eyes and says Pepper. I wish AG hadn’t retired his collection, I don’t really like the new pets as much. If you can find pepper on eBay, get him. He is adorable and he turns out very good on camera.

Next are Julie’s PJs, when I got them my friend forgot to give me the pants and one shoe, so I won’t be reviewing those parts of the outfit.

I LOVE the colors used and the little butterflies!

A cute little pink bow! I like these so much more than Julie’s new pajamas.

And the little embroidered butterflies on the shoes–I love this set so much!

My friend also gave me these purple glasses. They are really cute and they are two-toned.

You can still buy them from AG. They come with a felt case(not shown)

Next are these heart earring. They are a part of the Fancy Earrings set. This pair of dangles are sold with silver studs not hearts. (studs not shown)

The blue dangles are my favorite earrings. They look amazing on Brooklyn. The third pair of earrings in this set, I forgot to take pictures of. This set is still available for purchase at AG.

Next is the 2012 Holiday dress. I’ve never bought one of these dresses before and was so excited to receive it! (It’s retried)

It comes with a diamond studded headband and with an extremely long tag. (AG why?)

Here are the red sparkly shoes, they have a glossy finish.

I really like the detailed red sash.

The dress is a mesh like material and the inside design under the mesh is red with gold detailing.

There is also a rose on the left sleeve which I don’t like as much:(

The back velcros almost all the way down.

The flute is so cute, but is very hard for the doll to hold, because it is so heavy. This set is still available to buy.

The case is black with red velvet on the inside and is fitted perfectly for the flute. (The tag is horrible!)

Here is the top of the stand. It comes with a laminated fingering chart.

It also includes with a lesson book.

(sorry for the blurriness) This is the bottom of the stand.

Next up, the sugar and spice baking set. I love this set and I totally recommend it! The first item in the set is the little chocolates. They are stuck to the plate, but I don’t mind this as much as I thought I would.

The bottom looks like a real plate. By the way, this set is retired but can still be bought on eBay.

Next are the three little jars of sprinkles. They look so realistic.

Here is the ginger bread platter, it is nice but big and clunky for storing.

Here is the bottom, other side note, I’m missing the bowl of gum drops from this set.

Here is a collage of all the sides of the gingerbread house its adorable and very well made:D It is very intricately detailed.

This is so cute!! I love it, the material of the icing bag is a very weird consistently but not in a bad way you may be able to guess this but, I hate the tag!

The candy canes come in a realistic looking box, but are a big hunk of plastic if you take them out. But it is still really cute.

Here is the front of the apron, it is a red fabric, with red velvet trim, faux fur at the bottom and an embroidered snowflake in the corner.

It velcros in the back.

Super cute and festive hat! No complaints.

Last is the retired ice slating outfit. I have wanted this for so long!!

Just to let you know, I am missing the skate guards and stretchy pants from this set.

Here is the leotard, I love the color and material, it could also pass as a bathing suit.

Here is the skirt. It has the same design and fabric. It is a lot like the style of a skater skirt.

Here is the knit, gray sweater. It ties and velcros at the side.

It comes with two sets of velcro.

Here are the precious little skates. I like the silver laces (they can’t be tied but are elastic)

Last, the smart charm. I’m so glad I was given this set and can’t wait to use it, if it ever snows!

Don’t forget to vote on my poll for the winter series(I’ll be posting the winner on Tuesday and they are pretty close. Vote for Forever Family!) I can’t wait to use these new things in posts!!¬†Talk you all soon!
