Hi fellow bloggers.
As you might have read earlier this summer, I posted My Summer ‘Blink’ List. Well now, at the end of the summer, I’m going to update you and show you what I completed and what I didn’t. The things I didn’t complete are in red and the things I did are in green.
————————————————————————
#1 Wake up early and watch the sunrise.
^^The actual sunrise (it was really dark because I took this at 5:34 am)
I didn’t think I’d accomplish this but I did! In June, I went on a missions trip to Maine which I talked about in this post. The night we were leaving, I couldn’t sleep very well because I was so excited. So I got up (it was about five) and read my devotions and watched the sunrise. It really got me in the right mind-set and was very calming. It was so special because in my devotions that day, one of the verses was Jeremiah 29:11 which is my favorite verse. I didn’t plan that it just happened! God is so cool 😀
#2 Have a water balloon fight.
I’ve had about five at least this summer. I love water balloon fights and fortunately for me my siblings do too. I still have a few hundred left for next year or in case I need them for something else. *sneaky grin*
#3 Keep a journal.
^^This is my journal.
Yes! I did it. I finally formed a habit of journaling and my first journal is almost filled! I’m so glad that in a few years I can look back on what I wrote. Plus, it can help me remember lots of little things that happened this summer.
#4 Improve my swim times.
I feel like every year my swim times go down and this year is no exception. I also had to swim a 50 butterfly in a meet which is my worst stroke and I had never swum it in a meet before (it was actually fun!).
#5 Have a bonfire with friends.
I didn’t do this, though maybe I’ll do it during the fall :).
#6 Sleep under the stars.
I was planning on doing this with my friends but they couldn’t come over so we didn’t do it :(.
#7 Read 50 hours over the summer.
Well, I only got to 47 which is SO close.
#8 Be a consistent blogger.
I did a horrible job this summer at blogging, but I’m ok with that. I think I needed an extended break and now I’m back and feeling very motivated.
#9 De-clutter my room.
It’s an ongoing process, but yes, I did de-clutter my room this summer.
#10 Reach 100 followers.
I’m not there yet but I’m EXTREMELY close (91 to be exact).
#11 Host a giveaway.
I didn’t get around to this.
#12 Try new Pintrest recipes.
I didn’t make any new recipes except for yesterday. I don’t know if that counts?
#13 Finish some sewing projects.
My grandma helped me make a doll outfit and she showed me how to make some cute bath puppets that I can make for little kids I know. Right now, my machine is being serviced so I can’t sew for a little while.
#14 Relax
I did manage to relax this summer too. Actually, I did a lot of relaxing when I was home and not out.
The verdict: I completed 1/2 of my goals. I could have done better but I accomplished more of them this summer than I did last year!
When do you go back to school? I am going back today! I’m sad summer is over but excited for a new school year.
Also, would you like to see a What’s in My Backpack, Homeschool Edition post? If so, let me know in the comments or by using this poll.
I think that’s all for now! Talk to you soon!
I got braces! I’ve had them for almost a month now!
Yay! Good for you, Rebekah! I think I have done most of my bucket list, but I should check that… But one of the highlights this summer was seeing you!! 😀 ♥♥♥
Thanks! I loved getting to meet you too 😀 It was a highlight of my summer too.
Ok…. I’m still SOOOO jealous Bekah got to meet you!!!
*Evil grin* Yeah… so now it’s your turn!
I know!! Actually, I think it’s your turn to travel 😉
That would work too. 😉
I know the two of you would be great friends! You have to meet up.
Well I think we are already great friends… But I know what you mean 😉
